Yiran Zhao︎︎︎

(*1988, CN) is a composer, performer, and sound artist based in Germany. Her works focus on various modes of expression incorporating both musical and performative elements, lighting, visual arts, and other media. With great interest in the physicality of performance, she works with the human body and objects as compositional material. She studied composition in CCOM Beijing, HMDK Stuttgart, and the Musik-Akademie Basel; also scenic composition in ABPU Linz, where she is teaching now. She works as a freelance composer with numerous groups, including Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble Recherche, Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Ensemble Phoenix Basel, Ensemble Garage, German Symphony Orchestra Berlin (DSO). She is a member of OBLIVIA international performance company. As composer-performers Yiran Zhao and Kirstine Lindemann are the founders of performance group OTHER EYE.

N. Andrew Walsh

was born in 1978. He completed his Ph.D. in composition in 2009 with Caspar Johannes Walter and his D.Phil. in musicology in 2020 with Andreas Meyer, both at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. His studies were funded by scholarships from the DAAD, the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, and the Fulbright Commission Germany. He is the founder of the Stuttgarter Klang Büro, a free institute for graphic scores. He works as librettist, author, composer, translator, teacher, and musicologist, and currently lives in Berlin.

Kai Chun Chuang

born in 1993 Hsinchu City (Taiwan), is a freelance dancer and choreographer. In 2014 Kai has received a first-place award at the Taiwan's National Creative Dance Competition. In 2015 he completed his bachelor's degree from Taiwan National University Of Art and joined Taiwan's WC dance company. In 2016 he moved to Europe to study a master degree at the Anton Bruckner University (graduated in 2019). He has worked intensively in various projects such as in Augsburg cho.reo.loop 2.0 Tanz Festival (Germany), Posthof Zeitkultur am Hafen Theater (Austria), Lange Nacht Der Bühnen Linz (Austria), Alicante Intrincate Trajectories (Spain), Theater //an der Rott (Germany), Landestheater Linz (Austria), InterAKT Initiative Stuttgart (Germany) and Westflügel Leipzig (Germany). The piece[ (sw)allow] (choreographer/performer by himself) was selected finalist in 2018 Solo Tanz Theater competition in Stuttgart. Kai was a guest dancer in Festspielhaus St.Poelten for the piece" Decadance" by Ohad Naharin and new creation "Ballroom" by Shahar Binyamini. Currently, He is assistant, and rehearsal director for choreographer Shahar Binyamini work with Opéra national du Rhi (France) and Korea Art Project Bora Contemporary Dance Company (South Korea) Frontierdanceland (Singapore) Staatsballett Hannover (Germany). At the same time, he is working with choreographer Rose Breuss in Austria.

Lucas Gerin

is a french percussionist. Gerin discovered his special interest in new music and collaboration with composers during his bachelor's degree in Toulouse. At the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts he completed two Master's programmes in the profiles Percussion Solo and New Music, in the course of which he always dealt with current trends in contemporary music. As a soloist and ensemble musician, he has worked with composers such as Johannes Kreidler and Robin Hoffmann and performed world premieres by Peter Ablinger, Martin Schüttler, Philipp Krebs and many others. Lucas Gerin is a member of the formation Pony Says, which is dedicated to improvisation and the premiere of works by the younger generation of composers. His duo Mixed Sound Personnel is dedicated to the relationship between voice, percussion and electronics in various compositional formats. With these and other formations, for example the Ensemble Ascolta, Lucas Gerin has already made guest appearances at festivals such as Wien Modern, TonArt Festival Esslingen, Der Sommer in Stuttgart, REM Bremen and EM-Visia Kiev.

Viktoriia Vitrenko︎︎︎

is a Ukrainian conductor, singer and cultural activist. In 2017 - 2018 she was seen on stage of the Ukrainian National Theatre as well as Casco Theatre as part of the "Opera Forward Festival" of the Dutch National Theatre. In 2018-2019 she took over the musical direction of the project "Motor City Super Stuttgart" with Schorsch Kamerun, Stuttgart Philarmonic etc, lad the Youth Ensemble for New Music BW and the Divertimento Ensemble (Milan). In 2019, she released her debut CD „Scenes“ on AUDITE with chamber vocal music by György Kurtág, which received, a.o., Supersonic Pizzicato and was nominated for the Preis der Deutschen Schalplattenkritik and International Classical Music Awards. She is a co-founder of the InterAKT Initiative e.V. an interdisciplinary group of artists based in Stuttgart, and the Mixed Sound Personnel for voice, percussion and electronics.

Christopher Buehler

lives near Stuttgart and New York. He has been working as a freelance filmmaker in the field of documentary film since 2013. His work focuses on people and their stories; video documentaries in cooperation with artists from the independent dance and theatre scene are just as much a part of his focus as the realisation of video portraits or reports. 

Sasha Pais︎︎︎

was born in Kyiv (Ukraine) in 1987. She is a multidisciplinary designer and visual artist. In recent years her main focus is within identity, graphic, 3D and web design.
One of her main professional itches is helping to find the visual language and defining digital representation for brands and artists truly representing their core and essence. She works for corporate and IT clients as well as for artists, composers and musicians.

Mixed Sound Personnel︎︎︎

(MSP) is an ensemble comprised of voice, percussion and electronics. In their performances MSP concentrates on direct contact with public and engaging it in an interactive process. The musical program of MSP holds contemporary experimental compositions and their own electro-acoustical improvisations. The ensemble performed a.o. at the EM-Visia Festival, Vox Electronica, REM-Music and is creating their own artistic concepts. MSP consists of a french percussionist Lucas Gerin and a Ukrainian singer and conductor Viktoriia Vitrenko. MSP is based in Stuttgart.

InterAKT︎︎︎

is a young initiative from Stuttgart that brings together artists from different disciplines for interdisciplinary projects. InterAKT creates synergy effects by networking young talents. It facilitates new and experimental methods and formats in the arts and promotes interrelationships: between disciplines, between unusual cooperation partners, between new approaches in public relations and special target groups. The focus of their work is discussion and reflection on socio-political and technological issues. InterAKT members are graduates of Stuttgart's art academies and young, international and independent artists living in Stuttgart.
